What started as a simple message on Bumble in 2021 grew into a story no one could have predicted.
They matched on a shared love for music and food — a promising combination. Suzan thought: with this one, things might just work out differently. But they both just came out of a long relationship. It felt special and scary. Careful, as if they both knew: this could be a beautiful thing, so approach this with care.

2021 / 2022
meeting in the middle
What started with similarities in favorite bands grew into a deep connection. One that changed lives.
At that time, Suzan was still living in Eindhoven with her mother, and Bas in Arnhem. So they chose to meet in the middle: Oss. Every Wednesday.
It was the moments in the middle of a busy week that they were both looking forward to. Just hang out together, catch up, laugh and bridge the gap until the weekend.
Slowly, the feeling grew that this was not just something, but something that might be forever.
2022 / 2023
two worlds,
one story
From 2022, their worlds really began to intertwine.
Bas set foot in Asia for the first time, learned Chinese words (his favorite is”fai dee la") and navigated Chinese food culture customs.
Suzan, in turn, learned to understand 'Achterhoeks', tried to shoot clay pigeons and made Christmas decorations as if she had been doing that for years.
Two worlds that slowly, but surely, became one.
For a while, Suzan lived half in Eindhoven and half in Arnhem. But when office life started again and the distance became less romantic and practical, they made a decision in 2023: they were going to officially settle in Oss. The place where dating once began became their home.

2024
The Plot Twist
In 2024, they traveled to China together. To the places that Suzan always talked about.
What Suzan didn't know at the time was that Bas had been working on a secret plan for weeks. In fact, he had already asked Suzan's mother and brother for approval. Everything was prepared.
But one thing went exactly as hoped. She said yes!
2025 till now
The Next Chapter
The wedding planning can begin! After consulting the Chinese calendar, the choice fell on May 29, 2026.
This day is not just the day of a (super cool) wedding, but a new chapter, an official start of something new.
